You can apply the reward chart from age three. At this age they will learn to understand it.
This is the way it works:
You give them stickers every time they do something really good. For example, when they put their toys away, helped you with something, or were nice to another person, etc.
After they manage to collect 10 stickers or more, they can receive a treat, or you can take them to their favourite place, or to the cinema, etc.
You can also make a naughty chart for every time they don’t listen or they do something really bad. You may use the same chart, or make a separate one for the black dots.
Before all that, you have to make sure that you children are conscious of the purpose of the chart. Every child will love this chart! They will love earning the stickers. They will be excited to count down to the last sticker, when they will finally be rewarded.
It is a fun way of getting them to make good choices, and to control behaviour issues.
